The Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) is requesting $30,000 from the
National Endowment for the Arts to complete our strategic plan of offering
comprehensive services to craftspeople recovering from emergencies. Our request
includes two components:
1) Developing an improved communications mechanism for CERF through the creation
of an interactive Web site.
CERF requests support to hire a Web site designer and a data technician to
create an expandable, user-friendly and informative "location" where
craftspeople and those who care about craft can gather information about CERF
and learn where they or their friends can get help recovering from emergencies.
An added benefit of this site is that much of the emergency recovery information
and referrals in the site will be pertinent to artists working in any artistic
2) Enhancing and improving the framework through which CERF provides financial

Director of the Vermont Community Loan Fund to help CERF enhance and improve the
framework through which we provide financial assistance to craftspeople
suffering career-threatening emergencies in their lives.
